Trey is a 1981 alumnus of the Grassroots Project and a 1984 alumnus of College of the Atlantic. He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Vanderbilt University. After several years in academia as a postdoctoral fellow and instructor, he joined a small vaccine company that was developing a revolutionary new flu vaccine in 2005. The company was acquired by Sanofi, the world leader in flu vaccines in 2017, and he is now Director of Global Regulatory Affairs with responsibility for all US based flu vaccine. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Children’s Museum in West Hartford, CT for eleven years, the last two as vice chair, coached Little League and youth baseball in West Hartford for eight years, and served on the Sterling Alumnx Association Board from 2018 to 2022. Trey credits Sterling for starting him on the path to his accomplishments in college, graduate school, and later. Grassroots taught him the self confidence and motivation that he needed to be successful. Although he has pursued a path different from what he learned in the classroom and in the forest (and swamps and barn…) at Sterling, it has impacted the way he views the world and himself.
