Marialisa Calta is a former newspaper reporter, food writer, cookbook author and all-around pen-for-hire.
Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Smithsonian, The Washington Post, and many national and local food publications. For 24 years, she wrote a weekly.food column syndicated by United Media. She is a graduate of Georgetown University and Columbia University’s Journalism School.
She does her cooking and writing in Calais, VT, with a husband who excels in Asian cooking, and a cat and dog who get her out of the kitchen
