April 4, 2014 – Craftsbury Common, Vermont— It is with sorrow that Sterling College acknowledges the death of Trustee Penny Schmitt.
Penny was steadfast in her support for Sterling College and its place in her beloved home of Craftsbury Common, Vermont.
Her vision for the Inn on the Common, along with that of her late husband Michael, brought thousands of people to visit the Northeast Kingdom over the course of decades.
Her passion and sharp wit will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
