President Supports All of Sterling’s Students

Dear Sterling Community Members,

Last week, President Trump issued several executive orders that consist of: building a wall along the U.S.-Mexican border; one that denies federal funds to “sanctuary cities” that provide refuge to undocumented immigrants; and one banning foreign nationals from seven countries from entering the United States.

Like many college leaders around the country, I wish to express deep concern about these orders and underscore Sterling’s support for all of its students, current and future. This support is rooted in our vision of a college community in which people of all backgrounds and identities feel at home, where differences are embraced, and individuals take responsibility for furthering the dignity of all.

It is a timeless truth that the measure of any society is found in its commitment to protect the rights of its most vulnerable members.
