This four-credit course is a biological exploration of vertebrates with emphasis on animals of the boreal forests and northern hardwood forests of the northeastern US. We survey the major taxonomic groups, including fishes, amphibians, reptiles, mammals, and birds. We investigate evolutionary origins and relationships, anatomy and physiology, systematics, field identification, and life histories.
