Practicum in Environmental Stewardship (4-6 credits) offers students the opportunity to direct their own learning while working full-time in a field of interest. While the structure of this course of study can vary, a typical academic internship comprises at least 10-weeks of full-time work (during summer, fall, or spring session) at an approved internship site. Students create individualized learning objectives and activities based on their job responsibilities, they reflect on their experience and learning progress through regular written reports, and they work on a semester-long project that identifies a need and develops a solution that serves the host organization. Feedback is given through regular meetings with the supervisor and periodically throughout the course of the internship by the Internship Coordinator.
