The College has been visited by the press before—reporters from local, regional, and national outlets. However, we recently were visited by a reporter from the New Yorker.

The economics reporter, Adrienne Raphel, was intrigued by the seven Work Colleges in light of the Obama Administration’s recent proposal to make community college tuition free for students who meet specific criteria. After talking to President Matthew Derr and others, she decided to come visit Sterling College and see a Work College in action for herself.

The result can be found at the New Yorker’s website, entitled “The Work College Revival.”
