In the last week of April, Sterling College hosted a retreat for the institutions participating in the Vermont Higher Education Food Systems Consortium.

Leadership staff from the University of Vermont, Vermont Law School, Middlebury College, Vermont Technical College, Green Mountain College, Vermont State Colleges, and the New England Culinary Institute, as well as Chuck Ross, the Secretary of the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food, and Markets, met at Cedar Cottage to discuss plans for the Consortium.

This June, the Consortium is offering the Vermont Study Tour, a three week traveling undergraduate class that will visit six campuses, including Sterling College. Students will learn from farmers, policy experts, food justice advocates, agricultural education specialists, and more.
