Admission Counselor

The Admission Counselor position requires excellent communication skills. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:


•Represent Sterling College to prospective students and families as well as to guidance counselors, independent consultants, and other external constituents.


•Represent Sterling College at national, regional, and local college fairs throughout the U.S. during the fall and spring recruitment seasons and visit high schools.


•Stay current with events on campus, college policies, and the financial aid process. Be present at Sterling community events such as academic presentations, weekly community meetings, and annual celebrations.


•Contact and respond to inquiries via e-mail, phone, and in writing.


•Interview and counsel prospective students on admission and financial aid, and review admission files.


•Participate in the coordination of student phone calling, tour guide training, visitor scheduling, open houses, and on/off campus recruiting events.


•Assist the Director in the development of recruitment strategies, publications, direct mail campaigns, e-communications, and data management.


Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree. Excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and writing abilities required. Must be able to work independently, but also know when to ask for feedback. Must hold a valid driver’s license. Must be willing to travel 8 - 12 weeks per year.


Compensation


Salary based on applicable skills and experience. Health insurance is provided. TIAA/CREF retirement plan available after one year of service. Paid vacation and on-campus meals included.
