Students in this course will develop professional skills in the job search process as well as life-long career planning skills in preparation for the work world outside of Sterling. These skills include resume and cover letter writing, networking, interviewing, salary negotiation, and online portfolio development. As the first course in the Internship Program, students will apply the job search process to find an internship opportunity that will match their learning and career goals.
In this course students focus on professional presentation skills while analyzing and summarizing an internship experience. Critical reflection, narrative writing, and public speaking are practiced as students work to create a 15-minute public presentation using some form of audio-visual technology.
