Independent Studies

selfdesigned

From their first year at Sterling, students can pursue specific interests through Independent Studies, which pair students with faculty advisors and sets them free to explore as broadly or as deeply as one can imagine. Usually between 1 and 6 credits, these unique learning experiences are tailored specifically to individual student goals. Independent Studies are a wonderful way to either complement a major area of study or explore something unique. Students often choose to develop Independent Studies that emphasize a particular part of their self-designed major. To access the Independent Study Proposal Form, please visit the Academic Advising page.
