Career Resource Center (CRC)

The Career Resource Center, affectionately known as the CRC on campus, promotes environmentally and socially responsible careers. The CRC contains a wealth of resources and services to guide and prepare students, and alumni, as they make life-long career decisions and pursue meaningful work.

The CRC is conveniently located above the Dining Hall and is not your typical career center; it is a career center specifically geared toward the fields of study and focus at Sterling College; everything environmental. Resources are available and accessible to students 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Students may drop in or make an appointment to talk with staff Monday thru Friday.

Career Resource Center Services & Events

Alumni Career Chats
Alumni return to campus to share their career stories over a meal.

Annual Environmental Career Fair
Organizations from all over New England, and beyond, join our fair to share potential internships, research projects, and summer or full time employment opportunities.

Career Library
The Career Library has over 300 books, videos, CDs, and directories to assist students and alumni in their career development accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Career Resource Center's Website
The website can be accessed by anyone with an internet connection.  It contains many resources and descriptions of the CRC's services and events.

Environmental Graduate Program Index
Many Sterling College graduates (30%) will continue their education by attending graduate school. The Environmental Graduate Program Index helps narrow the search by identifying potential graduate programs.

Mock Interviews
Students seeking more preparation in the job search process have the opportunity to participate in a mock interview with the CRC staff.

Recruiter Visits
Sterling students’ reputation precedes them and recruiters are always interested in meeting students. The CRC staff schedule recruiter visits who seek students for internships, part-time and full-time employment throughout the year.

Resume, Cover Letter, and Application Critiques
By far the most popular service of students and alumni, CRC staff offer feedback on job search documents in person, over the phone or via email.

Senior Exit Rap Sessions
Entering the “real world” can be scary, during every student’s last semester the CRC staff meets one-on-one to help prepare seniors for a job search and the upcoming transition.

Weekly Updates of Career Opportunities (WUCO)
Weekly the CRC staff consolidates announcements and postings of jobs, internships, conferences, workshops, and other career related opportunities to a CRC website listing.
