This course focuses on the fundamental aspects of plant science, including plant growth and development, plant structure, reproduction, propagation methods, physiological plant ecology and plant evolution, with an emphasis on both the role of plants in natural and disturbed ecosystems. The class connects the applications of basic plant science to agriculture, horticulture, forestry and natural history. Lab exercises are integrated with concepts presented in class.
