Transfer Students
Why Sterling College?
Are you feeling like a number at the institution you are currently attending? Are you not able to pursue the major you are interested in? Maybe you’re ready to move on from a two year college and pursue your bachelor’s degree? Do you have a desire to be a part of an academic community that teaches sustainability and lives sustainably? You’re not alone. Sterling College is becoming an increasingly popular choice for students who find that their first choice was not the right choice and for students who have started their college careers at a two year institution. Each fall and spring we welcome a significant number of transfer students to the Sterling College community. Click here to fill out an information request form.
Transcript Evaluation
The College works closely with students to maximize the transfer of credit without compromising academic integrity. We would be happy to evaluate your current transcripts to give you an idea of how your credits will transfer. You will receive an official credit evaluation upon acceptance. After enrollment, your advisor and the registrar will work with you to individually design your schedule and adapt the Sterling College curriculum to meet your needs as a transfer student.
Admission Requirements
The Admissions Committee evaluates each applicant individually and assesses a range of academic and personal information. Academic preparation and achievement play an important role. Sterling College welcomes applications from transfer students with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. The Admissions Committee looks most favorably upon applicants who express enthusiasm for experiential learning but also display a fair amount of intellectual curiosity.
