The Career Library has over 300 books, videos, CDs, and directories to assist students and alumni in their career development. Recent book titles include;

Graduate Program Index

The CRC staff has created a Graduate Program Index to help students identify potential graduate programs. The Index is a list of environmental graduate programs with direct links to the graduate schools' web site. The CRC also has Graduate Record Exam (GRE) information and preparation materials, along with graduate assistantship information.

The CRC staff has identified hundreds of helpful Internet Links for Sterling College students from environmental listserves to professional organizations to scholarships. This extensive list has been screened and is a great resource for internship, career, study abroad, and graduate school information.

Internship Database

Second-year students are required to complete an internship, and the Internship Database is a helpful tool for the initial searching stage. The CRC staff maintains the database of over 3,000 environmental internships. Students can customize their search for internships on the database by geographic region, field of work, type of work, and/or compensation. This resource has also proved to be very valuable to Juniors and Seniors, as well as alumni.

Mock Interviews
Students seeking more preparation in the job search process have the opportunity to participate in a mock interview. A variety of interview situations can be created to prepare students in acquiring the job they want.

Off-Campus Semester Opportunities
Juniors have the opportunity to design their own learning experience off-campus and abroad. The CRC has hundreds of ideas and information on opportunities that would compliment a Sterling College student’s coursework and major. CRC staff guide students in designing and arranging this unique experience.

SARP (Senior Applied Research Project) Database
During students junior year at Sterling College they will begin to work on their capstone piece, the Senior Applied Research Project. The CRC staff has begun to create a database of possible organizations, agencies, and professionals who would serve as sponsors for this project.

Traveling and Working Abroad

The list is just a sample of websites concerning traveling and working abroad, there is a lot more comprehensive information out there. The Career Resource Center has books on this subject, and the CRC staff is another great resource to tap in to concerning this subject.

Weekly Updates of Career Opportunities (WUCO)

Every week throughout the spring and fall semesters the CRC staff consolidate announcements and postings of jobs, internships, conferences, workshops, and other career related opportunities that may be of interest to Sterling College students. The WUCO is then posted on the website and accessible to any Sterling College student or alumni. Students and alumni can request to receive an e-mail notifying them, with a link, when the WUCO has been posted.
