Kitchen and Dining Hall

Dunbar Dining Hall
The Dining Hall is where students, faculty, and staff, and often families of faculty and staff, meet to share their daily meals. All meals are served buffet style, and include Sterling-grown produce and meat when available.

Sterling Kitchen
The mission of Sterling’s Food Service is to manage the food system as an integral part of our educational programs by demonstrating a living-what-we-teach philosophy. Aligning with this mission, we support the partnerships between chefs and Vermont farmers through our membership with the Vermont Fresh Network. The following goals fulfill the kitchen’s mission:

Develop a menu that makes best use of Sterling-grown, organic, and local foods when available.

Serve healthful, nutritious foods that are pleasing to diners and provide a comfortable dining environment.

Choose, prepare, and serve food in an environmentally
conscientious manner. Compost all food and kitchen waste.

Educate students and other community members about the effects
of their food choices on the environment and nutrition.

Meals during the fall and spring semesters are served at the following times:

Breakfast: Weekdays 7:30 - 8:00 a.m.
(Continental Breakfast Saturday 8:30 - 9:00 a.m.)
Lunch: 12:00 - 12:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday
(Sunday Brunch 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon)
Dinner: 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. Daily
