Community Organization

Community Meeting
An important forum for discussing issues is the Sterling College Community Meeting. These meetings are designed as a forum for anyone in the community to speak on relevant subjects. They have served in past years as an important vehicle for clarifying policies or exploring new issues as well as for making announcements of general interest and appreciating contributions to the community. First-year students are required to attend all meetings during their first semester. All members of the Sterling College community are urged to attend.

Student Activities Committee
The Student Activities Committee seeks to provide a high standard of quality for student life at Sterling College. This is achieved by coordinating events, activities, and entertainment for the community. The Student Activities Committee meets weekly to plan events. Committee members can earn Work College hours by attending meetings and by coordinating and facilitating events and activities.

All College Meetings
Special All College meetings are convened, as needed, by the President or Dean of the College. Attendance at these meetings is required. Advance notice is posted around campus to alert the Sterling College community as well as to provide the opportunity to think about the issues ahead of time. Any community member who feels that an All College Meeting is needed should speak to the Dean of the College or President.
